WILLIAM KLEIN

Yesterday I went to a William Klein conference given by Christian Caujolle at Espai Cultural Caja Madrid in collaboration with FundaciĆ³ Foto Colectania. It was part of a series of conferences called "Iconos" about masters of photography through their pictures. And since yesterday I'm a fan of this man.

William Klein (New York, 19th of April, 1928) is a photographer and filmmaker noted to for his ironic approach to both media and his extensive use of unusual photographic techniques in the context of photojournalism and fashion photography. He was ranked 25th on Professional Photographer's Top 100 Most influencial photographers(from Wikipedia).

As Christian Caujolle said yesterday Klein knew how to read the cities, from the neons to the people. He was very interested in typography and graphic design in general. So he usually combines this discipline with his pictures and his books. The result is a fantastic work that describes with a wonderful structure a particular way to see the cities or the fashion of his time.

PROVES ESTUDI

Instead of going out on saturday night we stayed in doing some light testing in the studio. Here goes the results after some random shots by Marc and a bit of image retouching by myself.
God bless Photoshop!

UN DIA DE NASSOS

Last saturday 1st of October I was with Pallapupas enjoying "Un dia de nassos" at the Zoo of Barcelona. Pallapupas is an NGO which works since the year 2000 trying to provide a better quality of life of the children, young people and elderly admitted in catalonian hospitals. They achieve this goal through exhilarating clown sketches.
Thanks to Pallapupas for keeping our smiles every day!
